Episode 73 - Ghost Stories Volume II

I love a good ghost story. So, I’ve gathered eight of them here, told by the people that experienced these paranormal phantasms. This one features a star-studded cast of creeps, including - Billy Liar (solo artist), Ryan Disney (no, not THAT Disney), Jesse Wagner (The Aggrolites & UXB), Amanda Paulson (Pretty FN Spooky blog and YouTube channel), Fernando Cruz (Run For Your Fucking Life, Bumbklaatt), Mitch Wilson (No Knife, Funeral March), Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) and Ron Martinez (Final Conflict, Lower Class Brats). Each story is incredible - from a “Hat Man” story (look it up - scary!!!), to a kid who spent part of his youth living in a graveyard, to phantom footsteps and bellmen from beyond the grave, I’m telling you, this episode has the best ghost stories I’ve ever heard. There is music, as always, of course. Billy Liar with the song “The Ghosts Of Punk Rock”, UXB with “Night Marchers, No Knife with “Hit Man Dreams” and Dear Boy with a cover of the Psychedelic Furs song “The Ghost In You”. Did you catch all the songs sorta-kinda reference ghosts? Good job, you’re paying attention! One last thing before you go to the light - if you let me know via social media (search on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter “I Wanna Party With Bob”) which story is your favorite, you can win a t-shirt from Discount Cemetery and a gorgeously gruesome zippo lighter and case from Wicked Monster Workshop! Vote and win! Turn on the lights, burn some sage and fire up your podcast player - this one will scare the ecctoplasm out of anyone - living OR undead.

Episode 72 - Dillinger Four Live at Soda Bar (San Diego, Ca. 3/7/2020)

This episode is a live recording of Dillinger Four playing some songs and was recorded on March 7th, 2020 at The Soda Bar in San Diego, California. This was one of the last shows in all of Punkdom before Covid 19 shut it all down, but what a way to go out! A total of 14 songs that are all about being a lonely kid growing up in the shadow of an overbearing father. Actually, I have no idea if that's what the songs are about, this is D4, not The Postal Service. Paddy talking shit between songs included for free. My personal favorite quote of his from this show? “Donald Trump told me not to take my pants off. But I DID take my fucking pants off!”. Here’s a track listing:

1. Noble Stabbings

2. Super Powers Enable Me To Blend In With Machinery

3. A Jingle For The Product

4. Folk Song

5. Mosh For Jesus

6. A Floater Left With Pleasure In The Executive Washroom

7. Suckers Intl. Has Gone Public

8. Let Them Eat Thomas Paine

9. Maximum Piss And Vinegar

10. DoubleWhiskeyCokeNoIce

11. Gainsville

12. = Putting The “F” Back In “Art”

13. The Great American Going Out Of Business Sale

14. Sally MacLannane

Great show by some of the greatest people around, the Dillinger Four Experience should not be missed!

Episode 71 - 80's LA Punk & Epitaph Records Trivia with Raging Nathans

Welcome to another trivia challenege episode, this time with the Raging Nathans of Dayton, Ohio! Round one questions are all about 1980’s Los Angeles punk rock and hardcore. Round two questions are all about 1980’s and 1990’s Epitaph Records bands and Round three is sorta-kinda a mix of the two topics. There are four songs by the Raging Nathans off of their new record “Oppositional Defiance” in this episode, in this order - Signals, Stargazing, One Day Closer To Death and Spoiled Brat. What you REALLY need to here is the intro audio drama/comedy that is a play on the Dragnet TV series of yesteryear. Episode 70 - Dr. Frank of Mr. T Experience Interview

Dr. Frank of the Mr. T Experience, the catchiest band to “catch” my heart and ears, has been making music since the early 1980’s. That’s almost 40 years. Can I get a “HOLY SHIT”? For someone to do absolutely anything for 40 years is such a huge accomplishment, to have written so many incredible songs and done as much rad stuff in those 40 years as Dr. Frank has? Inconcievable, but there it is. Dr. Frank and I had a talk via Facetime in the summer of 2020 about some stuff. His early years prior to Mr. T Experience, how the MTX reissue campaign came to be, Dr. Frank answered some questions asked by fans I got via a Facebook Lookout! Records group, plus the notorious I Wanna Party With Bob ghost and burrito questions! So much good stuff, how could there POSSIBLY be more?!?!? There is more. Four MTX songs - And I Will Be With You, Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba, I Fell For You and Dumb Little Band. Listen, enjoy and fall back in love with the catchiest band that ever did band stuff. Episode 69 - Labor Day Special - The history of Labor Day and more

Happy Labor Day! Ever wonder why we have a Labor Day holiday in the USA and Canada? Wonder no more, here is the answer! I’ll cover the history behind Labor Day, a little of the history of the American Labor Movement and a bit about the rise and fall of Labor Unions in the USA up to current times. Hint - rich folks hate unions, because of course they do. Most rich folks throughout history seem to have issues with the people that made them rich, right? Let me talk to you about that and more in this episode! Songs are by Arthur Bell, Billy Liar, The Drowns and Chixdiggit. Yes, the songs are all about work. Bonus! The story and some thoughts of the folklore hero John Henry are also in this episode. Take it easy, crack open a cold one and let ME do all the work for a little bit. Here are some links!

Episode 67 - Wolf-Face UNMASKED

We interupt this regularly scheduled Bobcast with a SPECIAL REPORT. There have been tales of werewolves in the Tampa Bay region of Florida over the last several years - playing basketball, rocking the guitar in nightclubs in the area, buying beer from Tony’s Liquor in a less than orthadox manner. Join me on my quest for the truth, the hairy, sweaty, Dracula-hating truth. Once the truth of Wolf-Face is UNMASKED, you’ll never look at the movie Teen Wolf the same again. Movie? Sorry, I meant the story of Michael J. Wolf and his band of roving rovers. This episode also features four Wolf-Face songs and is brought to you by Red Brontosaurus Records and Plan 9 Alehouse. Episode 66 - Screamin' Jay Hawkins

Jalacy J. Hawkins, better known as Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, was one of a kind. His voice? Have you ever heard a volcano sing in the middle of a tsunami, while frogs were raining down from the sky? That’s close to the strange, powerful and goddamn charming beauty of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and that magic voice of his. He’d pop out of a coffin, sing a song about not being able to poop, strutting about the stage with a skull on a stick smoking a cigarette. If you think that last sentence was strange, wait until you hear the story of how “I Put A Spell On You” was recorded! That story is included in this episode, by the way. A brief history of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins from birth to death, the stories behind a couple of his more well known songs and more! The music of the bands in this episode brings something special - a shock-rock connection via Alice Cooper covers, that’s Sloppy Seconds and BL’AST. Then we have Rocket From The Crypt, because ROCK N ROLL, that’s why. The originator of “Shock-Rock” would be proud. Check out some links below!

Episode 65 - Horror Movie Trivia

Bob here, of the I Wanna Party With Bob Media Institute. In this episode, my laboratory worked overtime to bring you the finest Horror Movie Trivia Challenge ever brought back to life on a stormy, dreadful night. Reanimated? Yes, you should see Igor’s fingernails - he worked himself to the BONE on this one! There are 10 questions related to Zombie Films in Round One. Did you know one of Peter Jackson’s (of LOTR fame) earliest movies is considered the “goriest movie ever made” and is also a zombie film? Indeed. Round Two features Horror movies with a “Satanic” theme. Spoiler Alert - Damien IS the anti-Christ, not just a mean kid. The Final Round features a question from those giants of British Horror - Hammer Films. You know, where Grand Moff Tarkin and Count Dooku got their respective starts. The music of this episode also ties into the two main themes - 45 Grave and Teenage Werewolves with songs straight from The Return Of The Living Dead movie soundtrack, then, TSOL and Bridge City Sinners with songs that have a whole lot to do with the Prince Of Darkness. Fabulously frightening fun is your fate if you dare to listen!!! Check out the links below to the bands and the musical mayhem in the episode!

Episode 64 - Ghost Stories Volume 1

Ready for Atrocious August? I am. Let’s start the month off right with a “Boo”cast filled with chills, frights and unnatural delights. This episode has a total of eight ghost and paranormal / supernatural encounters as told to me by the people that experienced them. Vanishing customers, swirling clouds of chaos and killer closets are but a small sample of the ghoulish delights awaiting you in this episode. Stories were told to me by Troy Taylor, Davey Tiltwheel, Pleasant Gehman, Donna Ramone, Gared O’Donnell and more! A bit of advice? Leave the lights on for this one, trust me. Episode 63 - Freedom Summer Of 1964 And Voting Rights In The American South

Freedom Summer was a voting rights movement that happened in Mississippi in the summer of 1964. What makes Freedom Summer so important? Freedom Summer really brought the plight of Black Americans to the front of the national conversation at that time. Three men were murdered by the KKK during Freedom Summer, simply because they were helping Black residents of Mississippi attempt to register to vote, among other things. This episode also covers, in a very condenssed way, the history of the rights of Black citizens of the United States to vote, from the end of the Civil War until current times (2020). Voter supression has been an issue for Black Americans for so long and continues to this day. Let’s talk about it, think of ways we can fix this and VOTE the bastards that maintain voter suppression OUT! Music in this episode by Charles Bradley and The BellRays. Here are some links!

Episode 61 - The Bollweevils Interview

The Bollweevils are Daryl, Ken, Pete Mumford and Pete Mittler. They are also the kings of Chicago punk. Those are fighting words, I know. Grab an Old Style and we’ll talk about it for a minute. What other Chicago area punk band are part of a secret organization called “The Legion Of Shame”? Huh? I didn’t think so. Dr. Frosty, Captain Fitna, The Amazing Mumford and The Red Hulk have a mission, and that mission is to bring discomfort to the entire world! What? 88 Fingers Louie? Pssshhhh. They’re not Superheros or even Supervillains. So you see, best punk band in the Chicago area, that’s The Bollweevils. Still not sure? Listen to them talk about stuff in this episode, stuff like ruining toilets, UFO’s, getting kicked out of various venues, drinking tequila and more. Listen to the four Bollweevils songs in this episode. Listen to Daryl and his unhealthy knowledge of comic book trivia. Above all, beware The Legion Of Shame, er, The Bollweevils. They’re coming for you next. Also! Episode 60 - State Of The Union with Bob or ALL COUNTRIES MATTER

A “State Of The Union” thing usually involves the US President talking about their accomplishments and how awesome they are at their job. Psssshhh. Let me throw down the gauntlet and get into the ring for a minute and tell you how things are REALLY going. And no, I’m not some Alex Jones dipshit talking about eating liberal’s body parts. Though, I do talk about eating the rich a little in this one. Hmm. I’ll just say I’m here to remind you that “ALL COUNTRIES MATTER” on this July 4th special episode. Things are pretty messed up in the USA right now, but real change is coming, I can feel it. Good stuff, not the usual dystopian Trump-era shit we’re used to at this point. We’ll also celebrate this ALL COUNTRIES MATTER day with songs by The Adolescents, Pinata Protest, Doc Hammer, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Dillinger Four and The Arrivals. Episode 59 - Daryl "Doc " Wilson Interview

Daryl Wilson is an amazing human being, I’m just going to get that out of the way now. Lead singer of The Bollweevils, Doctor, family man, my friend. Pre-pandemic, when we still had live shows, the Doc’s “injury reports” after each Bollweevils live show were a humorous break from the hum drum, a postive and funny thing to read on social media. Funny to an extent - I always felt a little bad for Doc when reading, as we’re the same age, or damn close and I know how much worse things hurt now than when I was 25. Daryl isn’t your run-of-the-mill singer, either, he’s all over the place and almost a one man show when The Bollweevils are playing. Besides all of that, Daryl has incredible insight into what it is to simply be human. We talk about skateboarding, punk rock, doctor stuff, racism and so much more. Four songs by The Bollweevils are also in this one - “Rodney”, “Pressure Cooker”, “Talk” and “Wrong From Right”. There are also PSA’s from the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and Black Lives Matter Chicago. Here are some links!

Episode 58 - Turkish Techno / Tracy Soto / Cigarette Machine

Riverside, California is home to a triad of turds, a trio of titilating troubadors - Turkish Techno, Tracy Soto and Cigarette Machine. In this episode, I’m joined by Andy and Roger of ALL of these bands. That’s right, these workaholic music people have their paws in a three band sized pot of honey. Oh, the bands all sound oh-so sweet. Solid pop-punk / melodic punk just like all the bands you love, but better. There are two songs by Turkish Techno and two songs by Tracy Soto - Cigaette Machine has yet to record any tuneage. These songs will get the job done, no joke. Green Day trivia is also in this episode, up to the “Warning” era. Most importantly, we talk about white privilage and interacting with the police cops - and how much different things would be for us were we POC. Protests, Gen Z and fixing shit are also on the menu here. Here are some link to the bands and this episode’s PSAs -

Episode 57 - James Baldwin

James Baldwin was one of the most important authors, no, one of the most important human beings in the history of 20th century America. A civil rights movement activist who didn’t see himself as an activist. A man who fled the persecution and racism of the United States, only to come back over and over again because he could not stay silent about the horrors inflicted on Black Americans. He was a black man and a gay man, living during a period when both were shunned and persecuted by the country in which he was born and in which he was deeply invested. This episode contains a short history of Mr. James Baldwin, plus his 1963 speech, “The Free And The Brave”. Music is by The Bollweevils, Kira Jari and Danny Denial. PSA’s of the episode are from The National Black Theatre and Showing Up For Racial Justice. Please listen with an open heart and mind, you may learn something, like I did making the episode. Episode 56 - War On Women

My introcduction to War On Women came via Facebook several years ago, when a friend posted a video for the song “Say It”. Powerful music, brutally powerful words. From that moment, I absolutely LOVED this band. Message and music are intertwined in such a perfect way. Pumping your fist along to the songs while in your mind and heart you resolve to make the world a better place. This band is cathartic for me, uplifting in the sense that they give voice to the voiceless. The world needs more bands like War On Women. In this episode, I had a talk with Shawna and Jenarchy of War On Women, plus we did some political punk inspired trivia. Four War On Women songs are also featured herein, Effemimania, Pro-Life?, Predator In Chief and The Chalise And The Blade. Here are some links to War On Women and some related resources -

Episode 55 - Tiltwheel Talks Hair Brained Scheme Addicts

Tiltwheel has been a band since 1992, in some form or another. That’s a long time and now we’re old as shit. 1999 was the year that Davey, Ross, Squire and Bob went into a studio to get drunk and record Hair Brained Scheme Addicts. The audio for this episode was taken from a recent Zoom call (all set up by Davey, he’s smart) wherein we sat around, some of us drank and talked all things Hair Brained. Inbetween the talking parts you’re gonna hear the record in it’s entirety. Here’s a track listing!

1. Texas 10 2. All I Care About Is Me, My Rum And You 3. Song That Used To Be Called Aaron’s Song 4. 2:07 AM 5. Rinse 6. Al Quint Is An Emo Pussy 7. Battle Hymn For The Recluse Youth Part 2 8. Battle Hymns For The Recluse Youth Part 1 9. Whisper To A Scream 10. Lullaby 11. Wonder Beer (BONUS TRACK!!!)

Episode 54 - Matt Caskitt Interview

Matt Caskitt is the driving force behind the bands Caskitt (RIP) and Matt Caskitt And The Breaks. Holy wow, both bands have got it all - powerful, melodic, talented, you name it, Matt’s bands have IT. I haven’t heard a better drummer since I don’t know when, either. Matt and I talked about his history with music, burritos, joining a screamo band in San Diego via a cassette tape and more. Bonus? Pee-Wee Herman trivia! Check this stuff out -
